“Independence is fought for every day” – Oleksandr Svishchov
The third open Ukrainian beach water polo championship has ended in Lviv. The tournament was held on a symbolic day – August 24, Ukraine’s Independence Day.
Results of the competition:
🏆 1st place: Water polo club “Lviv Lions-1”
🥈 2nd place: Water polo club “Lviv Lions-2”
🥉 3rd place: NTU “KhPI-1654” (Kharkiv)
🏅 4th place: KIVS (Lviv)
In the bronze medal match, Kharkiv defeated KIVS Lviv with a score of 10-0. The final turned out to be tense: the main team of the Lviv Lions club beat their junior partners 15:13.
Thus, the Lions confirmed the title of Ukrainian champions for the third time in a row – in 2023, 2024 and 2025.
Lviv hosted the Third Open Ukrainian Beach Water Polo Championship. The event was of particular significance because it took place on August 24, Ukraine’s Independence Day.
While attending the matches, the President of the Ukrainian Water Polo Federation, Oleksandr Svishchov, addressed the athletes and spectators with words of gratitude and patriotic greetings:
“I remember well the year 1991, when we all celebrated the birth of Independence. Today we are defending it at the front and proving that Ukraine is strong in sports. I thank our heroes for the opportunity to hold such tournaments. Glory to Ukraine!
”
The tournament was not only a sporting event, but also a reminder of the importance of independence and the strength of the Ukrainian spirit.
