Oleksandr Svishchov: “No one can compete with Dynamo
The last round of the Ukrainian Super League men’s water polo championship has ended in Lviv. The tour took place on May 24-26 at the swimming pool of the Summer Sports Training Center of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
Water polo club Dynamo Lviv became the champion of Ukraine in water polo among men’s Super League teams.

“I would like to thank all the teams for this championship, especially those near the front line. Kharkiv and Mariupol, who have difficulty training, who do not have bases. Kyiv, where many guys are defending the country. Thank you for your participation and fight. Of course, I congratulate FC Dynamo Lviv on their championship. The guys did well, they showed a great game,” said Oleksandr Svishchov, President of the Ukrainian Water Polo Federation.
MP Rostyslav Tistyk congratulated the players and coaching staff of Dynamo Lviv on the Ukrainian championship: “I would like to recognize the teams from Kharkiv and Mariupol. We understand what emotions they played with, what their morale was like, and how much strength they needed to find in themselves to play water polo and find energy to fight.”
Maksym Kozytskyi, head of the Lviv Regional Military District Administration, said it was a pleasure to see the audience in the stands.
“I am grateful to our Armed Forces, our defenders for being able to hold the championship final in Lviv. I thank everyone who is winning today, and I congratulate Dynamo on winning the championship. I am proud that the champion is from Lviv region,” said Maksym Kozytskyi, head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration.
“Today, all teams are for the same thing. And when we watched the match where Lviv played Kharkiv, our emotions were such that we were rooting for Lviv, but we were very supportive of Kharkiv because of the difficult situation with active attacks. Although we are all competing, we are competing for one thing – to become stronger. We are very happy for our team, we are rooting for them. But we are keeping our fingers crossed for everyone, for one big common desire – to win,” said Andriy Moskalenko, First Deputy Mayor of Lviv.
Oleksandr Svishchov said that during the fight for the medals of the Ukrainian championship, there were exciting matches and competitions until the last seconds of the game.
“Today we demonstrate that water polo is alive and well. I would like to thank our guys from the Armed Forces of Ukraine, veterans of the Russian-Ukrainian war, who attended the Super League matches and watched the game from the stands. I am convinced that this will become a good tradition for our military to attend water polo matches,” added Alexander Svishchov.
As the president of the Ukrainian Water Polo Federation and the head of the Dynamo Lviv water polo club, Oleksandr Svishchov devotes a lot of time and energy to the development of water polo. During his presidency, the club achieved significant results. And today, water polo club Dynamo Lviv became the champion of Ukraine in water polo among men’s teams of the Super League in the 2023/2024 season.
Alexander Svishchov also pays attention to women’s polo, he is the head of Water polo club “Dynamo Amazons” – Children and Youth Sports School named after. Ю. Kutenko (Lviv), who are now the leaders of the Major League.
