Oleksandr Svishchov shared his impressions of the performances of the national teams in 2023

Oleksandr Svishchov, the President of the Ukrainian Water Polo Federation, expressed his thoughts during a conversation with journalists at the media center. He expressed his disappointment in the performance of our national teams in the qualifying tournaments for the European Championships, emphasizing his desire to see more dedication and determination from the players.

Svishchov also noted that there are objective reasons, such as the complicated training of players living in different European countries, as well as logistical difficulties. Nevertheless, Oleksandr Yuriyovych expressed his support for the coaching staff and clarified that they plan to evaluate the coaches’ work later.

Oleksandr Svishchov also discussed the possibility of changes in the national teams’ head coaches, but noted that the decision would be made after the season. Regarding the Super League of Water Polo in Ukraine, Svishchov admitted that the season was marked by a regression due to various objective reasons, such as the lack of training facilities for some teams due to Russian aggression.

The women’s water polo championship also had difficulties due to players traveling abroad and changes in team lineups. Nevertheless, Svishchov expressed his belief that the situation will improve in the future and that competition among women’s teams will increase.

As for the Ukrainian Beach Water Polo Championship, the President of the Ukrainian Water Polo Federation gave a positive review, emphasizing the high level of organization and favorable atmosphere that attracted the attention of players and spectators. He expressed hope that this format of the competition will be implemented in the future.”
