Water polo club Dynamo Lviv became the champion of Ukraine ahead of schedule
After 14 matches played, Dynamo’s water polo team scored 42 points, which is unattainable for their opponents. The second place is now occupied by NTU “KhPI_SVSM” from Kharkiv, which has 30 points, and Water polo club Mariupol closes the top three with 25 points.

“During the last matches, I saw positive changes in our team. As for the championship, of course, it’s nice. But the main thing is not that we won this title, but that we retain the championship, can play, and play the last round. No one will relax, we will play to the best of our abilities,” said Oleksiy Shvedov, head coach of Water polo club Dynamo Lviv.

“We have fulfilled the task – we have not lost a single game. However, if we take into account the instructions of the coaches, we still have some work to do. This tour they let the youngsters play more, they need to gain experience and have playing time.
We became the champions of Ukraine ahead of schedule, so now we will focus on the international tournaments we participate in: Water Polo Tour Series and the Northern League final,” says Oleksandr Dyadyura, captain of Water polo club Dynamo Lviv.

“This round of the Super League was emotional and tense for the fans, especially the matches for the final four, which will compete for the medals of the Ukrainian championship. There were exciting matches and a fight until the last seconds of the game. This is evident in the results of the matches – the difference was one or two goals. We have already formed the foursomes: Water polo club Dynamo, NTU KhPI-SVSM, Water polo club Mariupol and the championship debutant KIVS Lviv. Today we see the obvious leader, Water polo club Dynamo Lviv, and seven teams that can take points from each other. I liked the game of the Kyiv team, which was joined by several experienced water polo players, and the Kyiv team won two victories.
I think we have some interesting matches ahead, especially in the fight for silver and bronze medals. I am grateful to the entire water polo family for working for the good of the country in such a difficult time for the development of water polo. We demonstrate that water polo is alive and well. I would also like to thank our guys from the Ukrainian armed forces, veterans of the Russian-Ukrainian war, who attended Super League matches and watched the game from the stands. I am convinced that this will become a good tradition for our military to attend water polo matches,” concludes Oleksandr Svishchov, President of the Ukrainian Water Polo Federation.
